Leave Policy for Chaine

To report a vacation, sick day, or other leave, please use Chaine's leave form

Introduction:

Chaine believes in the well-being of its employees and recognizes the importance of work-life balance. To ensure this, we have designed our leave policy to provide employees with adequate time off from work for personal, medical, and family-related reasons. This policy is applicable to all employees working at Chaine, regardless of their position or level.

Every employee will be entitled to 10 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year. This time can be used for personal reasons such as vacation, family events, or any other non-medical reasons. Unused PTO days cannot be carried over to the next year, and the company will not be liable to pay for any unused PTO days.

Sick Leave

Chaine understands that illness is an unfortunate event and can be a source of stress for employees. Therefore, we offer our employees three days of sick leave per year. If an employee needs to take a longer leave due to an illness, they must provide a doctor's note or other medical documentation to their manager or HR department. In such cases, the employee may be granted additional sick leave days based on the company's discretion.

Holiday Leave

Chaine recognizes the importance of major national holidays in India and provides all employees with time off during these holidays. The list of national holidays will include:

  1. New years day
  2. Republic Day
  3. Indian Independence Day
  4. Gandhi Jayanti
  5. Dussehra
  6. Diwali
  7. Christmas Day

The company will remain closed on these days. However, in cases where the company needs to operate on a holiday due to business reasons, employees may be required to work. In such cases, employees will be provided with compensatory off days at a later date.

If you need to take a holiday off that is not on the above list, you may use your PTO for that holiday.

Parental Leave

haine understands the importance of family and supports employees who are expecting a child. We offer Materinity Leave for expecting mothers and Paternity for fathers.

Maternity Leave

We offer six weeks of paid maternity leave to mothers who are expecting a child. If an employee requires a c-section, the leave can be extended to eight weeks. This leave can be taken within the first year of the child's birth. Employees must inform their manager and HR department at least two weeks in advance of their intention to take maternity leave.

Paternity Leave

We offer two weeks of paid paternity leave to fathers who are expecting a child. This leave can be taken within the first year of the child's birth. Employees must inform their manager and HR department at least two weeks in advance of their intention to take paternity leave.

Requesting Time Off

To request time off, employees must submit their leave request through Chaine’s leave form least two weeks in advance. The request will be reviewed by the employee’s manager and HR department, and the employee will be notified of the decision within three working days.

Leaving During Work for Short Periods

If an employee needs to leave the office during work hours for personal reasons such as errands or other work, they must inform fill out the form. Leaving work for short periods will be considered a half-day or full-day PTO, depending on the duration of the absence. Employees are expected to plan their errands and other personal work around their work schedule to minimize disruptions to their work and colleagues. In exceptional cases, such as a medical emergency, employees may be granted special leave based on the company's discretion.

Leaving During Work for Medical Reasons or Emergencies

There is some flexibility in the leave policy for employees who need to leave work for medical reasons or emergencies. In such cases, employees must inform their manager or HR department as soon as possible. The employee may be granted special leave based on the company's discretion. If we notice an employee having reoccuring emergencies, we may instead request the employee to take PTO or sick leave instead.

Policy Violations

If an employee fails to comply with the leave policy, it may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to verbal or written warnings, salary deductions, or termination.

Conclusion

Chaine believes that a good leave policy is an essential component of a healthy work environment. We strive to provide our employees with adequate time off to ensure that they can take care of themselves and their families, and return to work with renewed energy and focus.
